Not this one
This was quite refreshing for a French comedy, although it’s not my kind of thing. French comedies usually start out funny and suddenly die down to serious before the end. Not one has a hidden face — Benoît remains strange and cowardly from beginning to end.
His brothers are greedy and pure evil
The Fake Girlfriend lacks social graces from start to finish. The parents are the only standard rich and confused couple you see in most French comedies. Their arcs in such films are completely predictable, so they were at least interesting.
Its future will be as the standard Sunday night movie on French television
However, I’m glad I have an unlimited movie pass, because I would be unhappy to spend a lot of money on this one, given the high ticket prices at the cinema.
